More about Sabra

Sabra Bahri Khatri is a Belgian soprano from Brussels whose work moves effortlessly between opera, concert, contemporary music, and interdisciplinary collaborations. Active throughout Europe, she has built a reputation as a versatile performer with a warm, expressive voice and a natural affinity for storytelling.

She has performed leading roles in a wide range of opera productions, including two different productions of Little Red Riding Hood, and is a regular soloist with professional orchestras and choirs such as Cappella Amsterdam and the Andalusisch Orkest Amsterdam.

she is currently selected as one of De Twintigers van Klara, the prestigious Belgian talent programme recognizing exceptional young musicians.

Alongside the classical repertoire, Sabra is deeply committed to exploring music across cultures. She regularly collaborates on projects that combine different musical traditions and has worked with Indonesian gamelan, Iraqi, Surinamese, and African musicians. She is particularly drawn to contemporary repertoire, including music that embraces microtonality, discovering new ways in which different musical languages can meet and enrich one another.

For Sabra, music is much more than beautiful sound. Singing offers a way to express what words often cannot—a space where emotion, vulnerability, and human connection can be shared beyond language or cultural boundaries. This belief is at the heart of every project she undertakes, whether performing opera, premiering new works, or creating dialogue between different musical traditions.

With a repertoire that spans centuries, styles, and cultures, Sabra continues to shape a career defined by artistic curiosity, authenticity, and a desire to connect people through music.
